The Tool and Die Technician is accountable for the safe, efficient machining, assembly, and repair of high quality tooling, fixtures, and fabrication equipment for the Bradenton Ceilings Plant.
Shift: 1st
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Essential Functions:
- Follows all safety policies, procedures and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others
- Assist design team in verifying the accuracy of tooling dimensions and drawings
- Recommend changes and modifications to improve quality and reduce cost
- Determine process to be used in the machining of tooling
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment in a safe manner
- Fabricate prototype tooling for production trials
- Produce tooling efficiently according to design specifications and functional requirements
- Assemble completed tooling and ensure functionality matches design
- Inspect and test tooling to ensure customer satisfaction
- Repair damaged tooling
- Troubleshoot tooling problems with other departments and plants
- Collaborate with cross functional groups to design and build machinery to meet customer specifications
- Create jigs, fixtures, and other items used to produce tooling
- Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
- Must be familiar with standard equipment: lathe, mill, grinders, welders, etc.
- Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
- Thorough understanding of metallic properties.
- Ability to work independently, with engineers and production operations.
- Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Successful completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company
