The Market Development team, part of the broader Strategy department, is a highly analytical and strategy group that focuses on identifying, understanding and developing business opportunities for RWECE in the US market. This team prioritizes markets, generating in-depth actionable market demand / supply analyses, assessing market fundamentals and policy drivers. and developing actionable competitor analyses. Moreover, the Market Development group, identifies and assesse new opportunities in adjacent business areas. This group provides ongoing market intelligence through reports and continuous monitoring, distilling key inshigts for the strategic direction of RWECE.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Market Development team, driving overall strategy and execution for market analysis and development initiatives
  • Oversee the identification, prioritization, and analysis of target markets, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term strategic goals
  • Spearhead the identification, evaluation, and development of major new business opportunities in areas like transmission, offtake, and development
  • Provide strategic market intelligence to the board and executive leadership, distilling key insights and implications for the company's strategic direction
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, regulators, and partners to support market development initiatives
  • Drive innovation within the Market Development team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic foresight
  • Mentor and develop senior leaders within the team, ensuring a high-performance and collaborative team environment
  • Ensure the Market Development team's activities are aligned with broader company strategies and objectives, contributing to overall business growth and success

Qualifications:

  • Master's or advanced degree in STEM, business, or other relevant fields, preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in market analysis, business development or strategy roles the US power sector, through consulting or relevant industry roles
  • Extensive expertise in US power market, the utility industry and commercialization of renewable energy projects
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving business direction and growth
  • Exemplary communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing board-level stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Proven experience in managing and executing large-scale, transformative strategic initiatives and special projects
  • High standards of quality and excellence, with the ability to balance visionary strategy with practical implementation
  • Visionary and innovative, consistently leading the charge in challenging the status quo and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills, building and nurturing high-performing teams, and establishing strong, strategic partnerships with external stakeholders
  • Adaptable, self-reflective, and committed to personal and team growth
