This position supports the safety by-design efforts of the RWECE HSSE team. The team member in this role is responsible for engaging with development and operations engineering functions in support of using risk engineering and analysis to solve environmental, health, safety, and security problems in the early project phases. These efforts are expected to reduce HSSE-related incidents and create a more engaged and resilient workforce.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the team of individuals in the EHS&S Engineering team in achieving all goals related to Investment Decision (FID), Origination and Development (O&D), Asset and Plant Safety (APS), Asset and Risk Governance (ARG) in concert with senior managers and business leaders to achieve goals across functions
- Manage the budgeting and financial process for themselves and the EHS&S Engineering team including travel and expense report management, personnel planning, and IT budgets
- Continue to develop the existing methodology/processes regarding FID, O&D, APS, and ARG management while reflecting the scope and needs of the business
- Manage the team to continuously develop the platform to record FID, O&D, APS, ARG management risks, controls, and performance improvements
- Manage the team to actively engage with business functions such as Engineering, Development, Construction, and Operations to ensure FID, O&D, APS, and ARG management-related risks are managed effectively through the use of common and available risk management tools
- Ensure Asset & Plant Safety standards and lessons learned are adopted in RWECE technical specifications and support technical due diligence processes
- Support the development of a Technical Due Diligence document for all technologies that RWECE employees in the delivery of services. Update and maintain TDD as necessary

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field, equivalent years of applicable experience may be considered; Master's degree preferred
- PE or Certification in a relevant area a plus
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the following;
- a technical field in a technical role dealing with mechanical and electrical systems
- a role responsible for business outcomes related to the safety of workers and quality of work/work product
- managing a team to achieve goals in alignment with business results
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing stakeholder and customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables marketplace
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to meet deadlines and hold teams accountable for delivery of products and services.
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple teams, tasks, and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as manager of the team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
