At RWE Clean Energy (RWECE), the Investments Controlling Development and Construction team is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting, and target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage businesses in the Americas region. The Senior Associate, Development FP&A will work as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with the business, evaluating improvement measures, actively giving recommendations/appropriate challenges, and business decision support.
Responsibilities:
- Financial planning & analysis: Support timely, complete, accurate, high-quality reporting/planning/forecasting with development business stakeholders
- Primary controlling support for the Project M&A and Utility-Scale Onshore Development business (e.g. monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting, mid-term planning, business cases, ad-hoc analyses, special topics, savings initiatives, monthly performance dialogues)
- Business Support: Serve as a strategic partner to relevant business areas by supporting/challenging/measuring critical initiatives within the business groups; provide timely and insightful analysis that supports informed decision-making
- Preparation of the monthly reporting for the specific project(s) supported by the role. This may include preparing journal entries, free cash flow reporting, and detailed and timely analysis of resource and non-resource costs
- Coordination and teamwork: As a primary contact within the team, coordinate overarching topics and related financial impacts across the business
- Management communication: Prepare materials for and support meetings with Senior Management and the Board for both regular reporting activities and special projects/topics
- Ongoing initiatives: Support company-wide top priorities and goals, strategic planning, increase in growth targets, and integration activities following the recent merger

Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business is required; an Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Accounting, Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial or Management Consulting, or other Finance-related fields; Renewable energy and/or management experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with SAP (moderate to advanced), Excel (moderate to advanced), PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, and other system/tools experience is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Continuous process improvement supporting the proactive pursuit of best practices, processes, standardization, and tools that drive gains in efficiency, automation, and quality
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
- Integration and change management experience is a plus
- General accounting and IFRS knowledge a plus
This position is a hybrid role with an expected 3 days in the Chicago office each week with some travel < 10% to other RWECE offices.
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $100,000 - $150,000 The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
