Do you enjoy travel, adventure, and building relationships? This 1099 Land Agent position within RWE's Land team offers an opportunity to travel across the Midwest, connect with stakeholders, and play a pivotal role in securing land for Green Energy projects. The Land Agent acts as a liaison for RWE Clean Energy in matters such as landowner relations, negotiations, acquisitions, field surveys, claims settlements,s and at times community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel extensively (90%+) to project sites across the Midwest (specifically IN, IL, MI, WS)
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with landowners, ensuring they're well-informed and involved throughout the process
  • Negotiate and execute options, leases, and/or easement agreements with accuracy and efficiency
  • Develop and implement right-of-way strategies with minimal supervision
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to RWE Land Team
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the industry, client goals, and relevant legal and regulatory aspects
  • Utilize RWE technology to manage projects and ensure smooth communication
  • Perform research, qualify parcel ownership, and overcome obstacles effectively
  • Accuracy, ensure all agreements are executed with accurate documentation
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with the RWE team

Qualifications:

  • Active LLC required for independent contractor status
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition for renewable energy projects, or related fields like ROW, Oil and Gas, residential, commercial, telecommunications
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in overcoming objections and navigating complex situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and remote locations

Additional Information:

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not eligible for benefits
  • Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy
