RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) is a rapidly-growing renewable energy owner/operator in North America. Our wind, solar, and battery energy storage assets combine to form a portfolio of 8GW. With a deep understanding of operations and engineering, the company's digital infrastructure needs are scaling up. The Digital Operations Engineer will support the Operations & Asset Management group in ensuring that the company's digital needs are addressed quickly and reliably.

This position supports the Digital Operations team, whose goal is to act as digital experts within the RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) Operations & Asset Management department and, in coordination with many other teams, to solve issues in the digital space.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate digital efforts while balancing requirements between local, regional, and global groups
  • Communicate and coordinate with teams and individuals within Field Operations, Control Center Operations, IT/OT, Engineering, Performance Analysis, and other groups
  • Lead and support the development of new digital systems and tools, as Product Owner and/or Project Manager
  • Prepare documentation for systems and tools, both existing and in development, and coordinate handoff of various systems between responsible parties
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in operational processes, and propose and manage digital solutions
  • Develop, review, and critique code, databases, and structures, both existing and proposed
  • Act as a contact point for both the Operations department and other technical departments for questions and issues around company's digital infrastructure

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
  • Minimum 4 years in engineering, software development, or related field required
  • Experience in power generation is strongly preferred
  • Required: Ability to communicate with and manage multiple stakeholders across multiple projects
  • Required: Experience with Project Management as a manager, coordinator, or team member
  • Required: Experience with designing, modifying, and/or using databases, and basic networking proficiency
  • Required: Proficiency in at least one general programming language
  • Preferred: Experience in a control room setting
  • Preferred: Experience developing with Python and C#
  • Preferred: Experience with system integration and using APIs
  • Preferred: Experience with both on-premise and cloud computing
  • Preferred: Experience within a scrum team working on software development
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
