The Business Applications Specialist will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing business solutions that support the company's strategic goals. The Specialist will work under supervision with team members, stakeholders, developers, testers, and project managers to ensure that the requirements are clear, feasible, and aligned with the business needs. This role will also provide technical support, documentation, and training for IT systems and applications. The applicant must have the ability to perform tasks independently and/or with guidance from the team lead or a mentor, and to assist in the software development life cycle to ensure project tasks are completed. This includes business use case analysis, designing or selecting the application, stakeholder communication, testing the application, deploying and documenting the solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with business representatives to understand, define and achieve system goals, enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Work with software vendors to install packages or modules
  • Create functional specifications, use cases, user stories, wireframes, and other artifacts that describe the desired features and functionalities of the IT systems and applications
  • Assist with the management of the Azure DevOps environment, including but not limited to setup & configuration of services, user permission management, maintaining best practices, template management and monitoring and troubleshooting pipelines & components
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for the IT systems and applications to the stakeholders
  • Maintain and update the documentation and knowledge base of the IT systems and applications
  • Develop documents, presentations & dashboards to effectively communicate requirements and project status to relevant stakeholders
  • Implement proposed software solutions that align with the business requirements and specifications of our company
  • Assist with software development projects that include both colleagues and consultants as participants
  • Write and implement efficient code based on business requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Experience with software development life cycle or equivalent is preferred
  • Ability to learn new technologies as required for the job using documentation and other available sources
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Familiarity with C#, Python, PowerShell, or React a plus
  • Familiarity working with Microsoft Azure DevOps platform
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams (ERD), cross functional diagrams, user stories, wireframes, Agile, Scrum, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN), etc.
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds at all levels of the organization
  • Is a team player embracing the spirit of continuous improvement personally and within the team
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
  • Must be able to work with remote teams, both within the US and globally
  • Must also be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
  • Must be flexible to work off hours as required to install product upgrades, support production problems and other corporate emergencies

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $56,000 - $85,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
