The Avionics Operations' Digital Solutions and Support organization is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op to join a team of engineers working on manufacturing support applications and related SMART Factory Initiatives. The right applicant will have a foundation in software development and an interest in learning and contributing towards all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes. This will include requirements decomposition, design, software development, user training, implementation, and support. The position focuses on full-stack development of applications for manufacturing workflows that include data extraction, processing, and provision for use in front end tools. The work also includes development of applications for multiple platforms with a variety of backend sources and databases including SAP, SQL and various manufacturing systems. This position will work extensively with internal customers including leadership levels in the fulfillment of its day-to-day activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Working with cross-functional teams to determine project scope.
  • Building new and maintaining existing web-based applications
  • MVC web applications, using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Developing intuitive User Interfaces (UI)
  • Creating unit tests for application code.
  • Participating in writing and/or reviewing software requirements, specifications and design artifacts and systems/user level documentation.
  • Participating in testing and code reviews.
  • Applying a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the planning, architecture, development, management, debugging and troubleshooting of software.
  • Responsibility for compliance with software standards and conventions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience or familiarity with C#, C++ Java, J2EE OR JSP programming languages.
  • Demonstrable skill and experience in one or more of these areas: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, VB.NET and jQuery.
  • Working knowledge of Integrated Development Environments such as MS Visual Studio and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Familiarity with implementing best practices of software development on small to medium scale projects.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
