The New Product Introduction (NPI) Production Controller plays a critical role in planning and preparing manufacturing schedules for the introduction of new products, ensuring that all production timelines and material requirements are met. This position is responsible for managing the flow of materials, components, and subassemblies to ensure a smooth and efficient transition from prototype to full-scale production. The NPI Production Controller will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, quality, and operations, to drive the successful launch of new products.

This role is designed for a highly experienced scheduling professional who is adept at working independently, addressing challenges, and implementing effective solutions, while ensuring the smooth flow of materials and maintaining inventory accuracy for new products. The ideal candidate will take ownership of material allocation decisions, manage delivery schedules, and serve as the primary point of contact for production-related issues, ensuring a seamless process throughout the NPI phase.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitors the timely delivery, assembly, and distribution of materials specifically for new product development and introduction, expediting the flow of prototype parts, components, and materials to meet key NPI production schedules and milestones.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, and Operations) to ensure seamless integration of materials planning for NPI projects, ensuring timely material availability and the resolution of any potential delays that could affect the product introduction.
  • Makes critical decisions regarding material allocation and prioritization for NPI projects, ensuring that key components and materials are prioritized based on project needs, critical timelines, and production requirements to support the successful introduction of new products.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for resolving materials and logistics challenges related to NPI, ensuring that issues in sourcing, shipping, or production are quickly addressed and resolved to prevent delays in the new product development process.
  • Recommends and implements solutions to mitigate delays, unforeseen changes, or cost fluctuations during the NPI phase, ensuring that material supply challenges do not impact timelines, product quality, or cost targets for new product launches.
  • 5-10% domestic travel as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Prior experience with SAP or similar platform.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with avionics manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in applying CORE principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, procurement, and inventory control processes.
  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction processes and cross-functional team collaboration.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
