The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:
RTX is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate GT Customs to join our Corporate Global Trade Organization. The role reports to the Executive Director of Corporate GT Customs and is responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, and improving the company's Global Customs Compliance Program ("GCCP").
The candidate will oversee compliance initiatives as directed, ensure reasonably standard implementation of global processes and provide data analytics capabilities to model the impacts associated with new or changed regulations, tariffs, or service providers across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in customs regulations, exceptional project management skills, and a strong aptitude for data analytics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, developing and maintaining respectful relationships with internal customers and external stakeholders while collaborating with multiple business functions for success.
What You Will Do
Customs Compliance Leadership and Program Design:
- Partner with BU and Corporate leadership to develop, implement, and improve a global customs compliance program by executing assigned projects, including policy refinement or creation, to ensure adherence to international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
- Lead a cross-business team of designated professionals to monitor and analyze changes in global customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements, and proactively mitigate impacts using business-agreed approaches.
- Leverage knowledge of multiple areas of Customs and jurisdictions to provide briefs to businesses upon request.
- Serve as a member of the Global Customs Steering Committee and lead subcommittees as requested.
- Leverage global customs and business process knowledge to suggest and implement refinements to policy that mitigates known risks.
Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams as requested to execute customs-related projects, including process improvements, trade compliance initiatives, and cost-saving strategies.
- Establish project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage multiple global projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and time constraints.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives related to brokerage or forwarding compliance.
Data Analytics and Reporting:
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends, measure performance, and assess risks related to customs activities via the Customs Data Register ("CDR") and present to leadership during the Customs Data Analytics Review ("DAR")
- Leverage dashboards and reports to track metrics and/or key performance indicators (KPIs) for customs operations and compliance as agreed by our businesses.
- Utilize analytical insights to recommend and implement strategies to optimize customs processes, reduce duty costs, and mitigate risks.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with internal teams such as supply chain, logistics, sales/contracts, finance, and legal to force multiply business efforts to ensure customs compliance is integrated into business operations.
- Collaborate with external customs brokers, freight forwarders, and consultants as requested to ensure efficient and compliant customs operations.
- Provide training and guidance upon request to internal teams on customs regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Risk Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Support enterprise efforts associated with periodic questionnaires, assessments, and audits of customs processes to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Track Business implementation or improvement commitments to closure.
- Understand root cause following extensive inquiry and recommend and achieve alignment with businesses on solutions upon request.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- Current Licensed Customs Broker or another government-customs accreditation or committed to achieving accreditation within 1 year.
- Data analysis and advanced analytic skills.

Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a regulated environment or industry supporting customs compliance activities with a global scope of work.
- Project Management Professional certification or demonstrated project management skills.
- Self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal and external customers
- Excellent customer relationship/interpersonal skills.
Location
- Hybrid, preferably from Arlington, NA (Rosslyn) or Farmington, CT; other RTX locations will be considered as well.

Minimum Program Qualifications

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
