Collins Aerospace is looking for a Project Engineer to work at our Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) division, located in Jacksonville, Florida. You will have an opportunity to work hands-on with the fabrication process for new composite & polymer products. You will be part of a team that is developing and manufacturing advanced, high-performance composites in marine applications for surface ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy.

What You Will Do

  • Focus on process development and new product introduction
  • Develop and generate engineering product drawings and specifications
  • Develop and generate manufacturing work instructions
  • Provide hands-on support and oversight for first article manufacturing, evaluation, and testing
  • Support on time delivery of products to meet the customers' needs
  • Perform various risk assessments and develop processes that comply with RTX standards in regard to Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Quality
  • Interface with shop floor personnel for the purpose of communicating technical information, addressing technical issues and troubleshooting, and promoting the technical image of RTX
  • Travel up to 15% domestically when circumstances permit, providing engineering support for the customer and attending customer/supplier meetings
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Will Learn

  • Knowledge and experience in mold / fixture design and analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in material processing and part fabrication
  • Knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of continuous improvement

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Skills we value

  • Mechanical engineering or similar background preferred
  • Experience with 3D modeling, CAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA
  • Experience performing FEA, preferably SolidWorks simulation
  • Experience with drawings and GD&T
  • Knowledge of mechanics of materials and basic mechanical analysis

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
