The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

Engineering and Technology Application Services (ETAS) Environment Team is looking for an experienced Application Performance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of roles with supporting enterprise applications, focusing on the areas of performance monitoring, investigation, and analysis, particularly using Dynatrace. This role is part of a team that supports multiple applications, some of which are mission critical to RTX. The candidate should have a curiosity to solve complex issues for applications that are critical to the company but also want to teach others their knowledge and processes to better their self and the team. It would also be expected to train the other administrators on usage of tools and investigation practices.

What Will You Do:

  • Demonstrate strong values of collaboration and innovation while working with application admins, helpdesk support, and other stakeholders.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and resolve end-user performance issues on major PLM and collaboration applications supporting engineering processes running on Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows.
  • Utilize RTX-approved observation tools for performance monitoring, investigation, and analysis of various applications.
  • Continuously review and improve our processes and tools provide recommendations for performance improvements and optimizations including Develop and maintain performance monitoring dashboards and reports.
  • Support our Dynatrace implementation including implementing best practices, tune metric collections to provide business related usages, and help detect and remediate issues with the application administrators.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the engineering management system due to government data requirements.
  • Proven experience with Dynatrace, including setup, configuration, and management.
  • Roles that show experience in debugging, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale virtualized Java, .Net, and applications that are configured in a three-tier secure architecture that supports internal and external collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Certification in Dynatrace or similar performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience leading a team supporting and managing aerospace and defense industry applications like PTC Windchill, Source Intel The Compliance Map, Siemens Xpedition Engineering Data Management.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting in bash, Python, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL or other similar languages.
  • Knowledgeable in other monitoring and observation applications like Oracle Enterprise Manager, VMWare Aria, DataDog.

This is a Remote work location

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
