What You Will Do:

We have an exciting opportunity for an NDT Level 1 Sonic Inspector at our growing facility in Columbus, Georgia. Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. This position is available on Weekend Night Shift (Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 pm - 6:30 am).

  • Aid in the process of performing non-destructive testing Ultrasonic inspections using IRT or Matec Systems
  • Assist with selecting, preparing, loading, calibrating, or operating equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products or materials
  • Record results of inspections and submit to Ultrasonic Level II team member
  • Perform daily walk-around and maintain cleanliness of equipment and inspection area
  • Complete classroom theory, on the job training, and certification examination as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications. Employment is contingent on passing NDT Level I test
  • Must be able to obtain NDT Level 1 Certification within designated timeframe as required by Pratt & Whitney. Re-certification required at interval specified by Pratt & Whitney qualifications
  • This position entails working at a desk while monitoring a computer screen in a controlled environment

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • NDT experience and/or NDT Level 1 certification
  • Experience in a quality/aerospace manufacturing environment and proficiency with quality procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Matec and IRT Ultrasonic systems
