The following position is to join our RTX Corporate and Global Communications team:

The Manager, Employee Communications - Engineering role will help drive the development and execution of a range of integrated communications strategies that support RTX's enterprise-wide Engineering and BU Engineering objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Support the RTX Engineering Communications Lead to implement the Engineering communications strategy and plans at the Business Units that support their objectives and key initiatives.
  • Design and execute BU Engineering employee communications campaigns, generating content (including intranet and internet features, articles, video scripts, infographics, employee toolkits) for internal and external audiences.
  • Create timely, relevant written communications and presentations.
  • Produce internal communications to inform the Engineering population about Engineering strategies and goals; drive message alignment and employee engagement.
  • Support major organizational change communications and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure effective communication of organizational and executive announcements and employee relations strategies.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to fully understand BU Engineering strategic priorities, business performance, and customer engagement to ensure communications meet the current business and external environment needs. Ensure necessary legal and financial reviews, as required.
  • Provide communications counsel to key stakeholders across the team and BUs, ensuring coordination and alignment of communications plans and deliverables.
  • Contribute to strategic messaging, campaign planning and storytelling development for internal/external communications for enterprise-wide campaigns.
  • Assist in writing leadership speeches, talking points, Q&A, media interview prep, and other executive communications for internal and external use.
  • Collaborate across the Employee Engagement COE and within the Engineering communications team to align on messaging and timing, as well as support other initiatives as needed.
  • Seek continuous improvement through metrics, feedback collection and evaluation/analytics.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies.
  • Experience working with senior executives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in engaging with key stakeholders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into effective communication initiatives.
  • Analytical Skills: Previous experience utilizing data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Tech Savvy: Experience with digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship now or in the future, RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Experience in Communications supporting engineering function.
  • Messaging and Storytelling: Strong skills in crafting compelling messages and storytelling for both internal and external audiences.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and external partners.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Minimum Program Qualifications

To qualify for the RTX Re-Empower Program, candidates should:

  • Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
  • Have prior experience in functional area of interest

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
