This individual contributor for Employee and Labor Relations is for a professional that has deep knowledge in employee relations and significant experience and exposure with labor relations. This position will administer labor and employment relations programs, guides the development of documents in support of labor and employee relations matters, represents the organization in grievance procedures, and manages projects focused on labor and employee relations initiatives. In addition, this position will be in support of a union at our Cheshire, CT facility. As an Employee & Labor Relations Partner, you'll embark on a journey of skill development that will empower you in various facets:
- Be a Key Strategic Partner - Play a pivotal role in shaping labor and employee relations strategy at our facility by managing union negotiations, resolving grievances, and advising leadership on contract interpretation.

- Grow Your Career - Gain hands-on experience in both tactical and strategic labor relations, working closely with HR leadership and legal professionals to enhance your expertise in union negotiations, arbitration, and policy development.
What You Will Do:
- Manage contract interpretation to resolve Union grievances / employee issues and arbitrations. Acts as site focal for local Union negotiations.
- Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
- Daily work may be a blend of tactical vs. strategic work in support of the business.
- Ensures Corporate and site policies and procedures are communicated, adhered to and understood by all employees.
- Ensures that Labor and Employment law is followed, consulting with supervisor, senior personnel, or legal as needed.
- Administers and maintains compliance policies.
- Works with limited oversight to administer labor and employee relations programs and policies.
- Research and compilation of facts related to employee grievances and advises on how labor and employee relations policies can be interpreted to strengthen management's position in each case.
- Serves as an additional point of contact in labor relations matters to address complex disputes in the event an employee is dissatisfied with or a grievance is not resolved through initial and secondary grievance proceedings.
- Helps to finalize information requested by management for distribution to employees that advocates union-free worksites.
- Manages projects that are focused on labor and employee relations projects and initiatives.
- Works with legal professionals to recommend contract language that best serves the interest of management.
- Services as a subject matter expert in labor and employee relations issues on behalf of the organization in grievance procedures.
- Manages the documentation of proceedings involved in labor disputes and grievance arbitrations.
- Domestic travel up to 15%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
- Prior employee and labor relations experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- This position will be worked onsite in Cheshire, CT; candidate must be local to the preferred location or relocate on their own. Relocation assistance is not available.
- Experience with conflict resolution in the work environment and mediating between parties
- Ability to develop and effectively leverage relationships across HR and within the business unit
- Ability to coach, consult and influence leaders regarding the importance of good "people" practices and the links to business success; ability to conduct effective presentations, facilitate meetings
- Ability to be approachable and empathetic to employee needs

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
