The Electrical Engineering Team is seeking a temporary Electrical & Electronics Engineering Advisor with a strong RF design and analysis background, failure investigation experience and networking skills to join our team. As advisor, it is expected that the candidate works across Product Lines and Business Units as critical needs dictate of the Enterprise. Additionally, the employee will seek out and establish apprenticeships to enable a teaching culture at Raytheon Missiles and Defense. In this position, they must have exhibited a proven track record with national recognition in RF design and architecture. The candidate of choice will encompass a history of design innovation validated by patents and technical papers and have demonstrated experience in RF system development across the entire product life cycle. We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with program technical leadership to support their design efforts.

Our programs utilize today's cutting-edge technology to design electronics circuits that cover a wide range of disciplines including high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, power systems and RF seeker electronics. The entire design cycle is supported from proposal through transition to production. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, sub-zero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor, to the high pressures of the ocean depths.
What You Will Do
- Oversee and consult on the design, development, integration, and testing of exciters and receivers
- Mentor senior principal engineers on exciter/receiver design and RF system architectures
- Lead the development of, and train the instructors for, courses including but not limited to: Exciter Development for Effectors, Receiver Development for Effectors, and Effector RF System Architectures
- Develop new architectures for radar RF electronics subsystems
- Propose and coordinate independent research and development projects for the advancement of RF systems and architecture technology in Raytheon products.
- Ensure balance of risk, performance, and cost on Raytheon RF development programs.
- Be accountable to leadership for technical decisions.
- Participate in major technical review boards, e.g., Failure Review Board.
- Communicate and collaborate with program management and technical leadership, engineering leadership, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
- Guide, apprentice, mentor, and train employees within the RF systems and products area.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in RF systems architecture for aerospace applications.
- Experience developing and writing technical proposals.
- Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance pre-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Demonstrated experience in RF systems for aerospace products.
- Experience performing RF architecture trades.
- Professional design experience with exciter development for effectors.
- Professional design experience with receiver development for effectors.
- Professional design experience with effector RF system architectures.
- Experience developing a business strategic vision and execute changes.
- Active DoD issued Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
