Raytheon's Electrical Engineering team is searching for a Chief Engineer (CE) for AIM-9X Production, Sustainment, and Capacity Increase contracts. Candidates selected for this role will be directly responsible for technical execution on these and expected future contracts, both domestic and international. The Capacity Increase contract will see significant production quantity growth in 2026. The CE must ensure technical integrity of new build and repaired depot (sustainment) missiles while balancing demands of cost and schedule. The CE will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective relationship with internal and customer counterparts, including applicable technical leads and individuals holding oversight responsibility. Strong demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills are required to drive and maintain AIM-9X Annual Operating Plans. This role requires a trusted technical voice to influence future franchise growth across business units.

What You Will Do
- Assist in management of product vision, strategy, and goals to align to meet Programs / Customers milestones; facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Technical point of contact with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
- Support the capture of new business including proposal writing and execution and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution
- Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts
- Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables
- Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of issue resolution.
- Responsible for the technical content and engineering labor estimates of production proposals.
- Frequent travel will be required as the CE will be the lead technical interface to suppliers.
- International travel may also be required as part of this role.
- Obtain and maintain additional program access as required.
- This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Tucson, AZ.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 12 years' of prior work experience OR an Advanced STEM degree and 10 years' of prior work experience. A Ph.D. can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position.
- Experience in a technical leadership role that includes experience across the development lifecycle (i.e. systems, sub-systems).
- Experience with leading and conducting trade studies, system development and design, systems requirements development and management, system integration and test, and/or production support.
- Experience as a technical leader developing work plans and driving execution in an engineering environment.
- Experience leading rapid prototyping with activities including, but not limited to design, procurement, build, site test, and customer attended demonstrations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
- Direct experience with Formal TDP release.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in leading and executing the design and development of complex system architectures.
- Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to interact with and influence Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets.
- Proven ability to develop effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business.
- Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management.
- Experience with technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM).
- Requires expert knowledge of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- Expert knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize within RTX.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
