The Business Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in maintaining the vitality of our Business Aviation Service for our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) Program Management Office (PMO). The role reports to the Commercial Manager and will support the entire Collins suite of Business Aviation services, including flight planning and satellite communications.

In this role, you will utilize your expertise in data analysis and engineering principles to develop and maintain analytical procedures that ensure on-time delivery of reporting for internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will also include managing business and customer partnerships, supporting digital projects and programs, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to deliver data reporting and visualization services. Additionally, you will provide scope and/or budget bids and analysis, resource allocation, and coordinate project/program activities. The data-driven insights you will provide are truly instrumental in achieving our business objectives both competitively and commercially.

This role is based on site in Annapolis, MD; relocation assistance will not be provided.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the business management functions for Business Aviation programs. Collaborate closely with Business Aviation Commercial Manager and Program Managers related to assigned Business Aviation product portfolio and provide comprehensive commercial support.
  • Ensure the highest possible standards in both internal and external stakeholder reporting, sales delivery, customer service and revenue recognition.
  • Utilize visualization tools to create insightful charts, graphs, and dashboards to better communicate data effectively and interpret trends.
  • Prepare business plans in consultation with managers. Analyzes, coordinates and follows through on business related issues.
  • Participate in proposal development efforts and assists in identifying potential follow-on/add-on work with current customers as well as maintaining rapport with technical customers.
  • Manage vendors, when necessary, to support assigned Business Aviation portfolio.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc duties/projects assigned by the manager.
  • Support the commercial modeling for all integrated program proposals.
  • Build and maintain effective relations with internal and external customers to ensure success in meeting corporate financial goals and objectives as well as achieving the highest standards in customer excellence and adhere to customer complaints procedures.
  • Evangelize a data-driven, user-centric culture and drive alignment between departments on relevant topics.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Experience as a data analyst or similar role writing complex SQL queries to extract data from relational databases such as Postgres, Oracle, or similar.
  • Experience with O365 suite, particularly Excel for importing, manipulating, and displaying data.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in other programming/scripting languages like Python and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Kibana.
  • Previous Business Aviation industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete ad hoc work-related projects.
  • Leadership skills and possesses initiative and the drive to deliver excellence with strategic, critical and problem-solving thinking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pasted environment and make independent judgements.

The salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 144,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
