The Product Chief Engineer is the engineering lead for their respective Product Value Stream IPT and drives the integrated product teams in the definition and execution of Development Plans, directs technical component-level trade studies, ensures technical goals are met on schedule and to cost, serves as a technical escalation point of contact, and ensures overall product integration with the system. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Director and will have a key role in establishing our products strategy for maintaining relevance in the marketplace along with the tactical execution of the steps needed to realize that strategy.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical input, direction, and oversight to assigned products to ensure all stakeholder objectives are met.
- Ensure technical and process consistency across the product line; driving the incorporation of the lessons learned from operational, field, and process experience into standard work and read across the product line.
- Reviews the Product Line SWACE, supporting evidence, task tailoring, and lessons learned
- As the engineering lead for their Product Line Value Stream, work with the Product Line Value Stream IPT to engage and support the Customer Value Streams.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or other relevant technical discipline.
- Advanced degree(s) in business management and/or technical discipline.
- Project leadership or customer facing experience.
- Experience with liquid pumps and systems
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
