Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Revenue Management is responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize revenue and maximize profitability. This role involves close collaboration with Sales and Marketing to evaluate and develop promotions to boost demand, ensure full utilization of inventory, explore new business opportunities, and develop comprehensive revenue strategies. This position has significant decision-making authority and serves as the primary liaison for key internal departments, including Deployment, C&I, Sales, Marketing, and OBR.

Additionally, the Senior Manager will lead key strategic initiatives that drive the vision and execution of product revenue management with a focus on commercial channels. This person will closely partner with strategy, product, information technology, and commercial partners to deliver effective solutions. This role is integral to the revenue management team and must maintain strong alignment with key external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize ticket revenues and utilization of inventory for multiple product portfolios. This includes the creation, analysis, and presentation of strategic plans to senior management, as well as tactical plans and decisions in response to changing market conditions.
  • Determine pricing throughout the deployment cycle, negotiate large group contracts and charters, align with both global and domestic sourcing strategies, and monitor economic and market trends to adjust the strategy when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary contact with senior management, Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services, and other operational departments to implement strategic plans.
  • Develop and manage programs and events that guide the revenue managers and analysts to achieve revenue plans and forecasts.
  • Coordinate promotions to address product needs and develop initiatives that drive volume through more cost-effective distribution channels, working with Marketing on customer segmentation initiatives to drive incremental growth opportunities in North America and international markets
  • Ensure compliance with antitrust and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Ensure international pricing and taxation guidelines are met by staying abreast of international and industry rules and tailoring strategies and pricing actions accordingly. Manage pricing in multiple currencies and develop and track international sourcing goals in conjunction with global markets.
  • Generate, monitor, and adjust revenue forecasts for product portfolios that support quarterly Wall Street guidance. Generate assumptions and trends that drive period-over-period changes. Generate occupancy and net ticket goals to achieve more than $500 million in annual revenue using standardized and ad-hoc analysis. Track and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Hire, train, and develop a team of Pricing Managers, Senior Analysts, and Business Analysts in pricing principles. Ensure ethical and revenue management policies and procedures are in strict accordance with company guidelines.
  • Contribute to large multi-million technology programs to generate revenue and transform how we manage the business. Drives continuous improvement of policies and processes as well as the enhancement and creation of tools. Represent Revenue Management in system overhauls that deliver benefits to a variety of pricing related activities. Develop business requirements and corresponding ROI analysis that support investment
  • Develop working knowledge of Reservation and Pricing systems (Res 2.0), data mining tools, and demonstrate expertise in analytical tools such as Excel, to effectively execute strategies and tactics.
  • Establishes and develops metrics and measurement tools with Planning and Analysis teams that enhance yield management activities across the organization. Creates and distributes reports to Executive leadership on key strategic initiatives, as well as tactical reactions to changing conditions. Works with all parts of the organization to meet customer satisfaction and retention goals during normal and extraordinary events, external crises and systemic failures that might result in customer-facing operational challenges.
  • Represents RCCL Revenue Management at Corporate Industry and Trade conferences, including delivering presentations and providing guidance on procedural and customer trends, both B2B and B2C

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year College or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree (MA) strongly preferred
  • 7 plus years related experience in revenue management / business analysis or related field required
  • Deep knowledge of revenue management concepts and tools preferred
  • Previous experience with Revenue Management required
  • Previous experience in implementing system enhancements and decision-making tools preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Strong computer skills including email programs, internet programs, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel, RCCL reservations system.
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue management: pricing, forecasting, microeconomics, market segmentation, techniques for maximizing revenue
  • Excellent communication skills, including both short and long-form position papers as well as small and large group presentations
  • General business skills including leadership of people, sales and marketing knowledge, financial and quantitative skills, superior judgment and decision-making skills
