The Royal Caribbean Group's Finance Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Director, Finance for the Greater China Market reporting to the VP, Finance Royal Caribbean International.

This position will require relocation to China.

Position Summary:

This position provides critical support to the VP of Royal Caribbean International China in all accounting, tax, and finance matters across the Greater China market. In this position, you will be responsible for both the Accounting and FP&A team. You will ensure outstanding compliance with all company accounting policies / procedures, as well as execution of internal controls. The role should support and work closely with the business to drive improvements in results, through identifying efficiencies and enhancing existing systems, controls, and processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required both locally and with corporate functions in Miami.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides critical support to the VP of Royal Caribbean International China by ensuring correct accounting in all aspects of revenue and costs (commission / overheads) throughout Greater China, and in the reporting of all issues to the Sr. Director, Finance - International.

  • Responsible for the consistent / correct application of Royal Caribbean Group accounting policies / procedures, and execution of internal controls. Proactively anticipates risks and develops appropriate solutions in a timely manner.

  • Manages, develops, and motivates a team of professionals in all areas of the Finance function, including AP, AR, general accounting, tax, financial reporting and in the monthly close and forecast process.

  • Key liaison with internal and external audit, ensuring all financial controls and processes are compliant throughout the business.

  • Ensures GAAP compliance in recording of transactions with corporate policies and procedures including Sarbanes Oxley. Provide subject matter expertise on Sarbanes Oxley for business managers and supports the quarterly control self-assessment process.

  • Management of all tax matters relating to the China and Hong Kong offices, including regular interaction with the Tax Bureau. Responsible for Port VAT / CIT exemption renewals and transfer pricing.

  • Regular and proactive oversight and reporting in the accounts receivable area.

  • Treasury management and responsibility over cash repatriations.

  • Proactive interaction with Revenue Management, Call Center, Information Technology, Sales, and Marketing departments, amongst others.

  • Ensures compliance with a range of other financial, regulatory and travel related issues as required by the business.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (International audit firm background).

  • Relevant post qualification experience.

  • Good analytical degree.

  • Minimum of 10+ years management experience in a similar position.

  • International experience working overseas highly desirable.

  • A strong Finance Director with an open and direct style, one who practices participative management. Motivates, retains, and develops the team.

  • Critical thinker and pro-active.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build strong working relationships.

  • Highly organized and able to manage and deliver on concurrent projects.

  • Ability to integrate fully into Royal Caribbean Group's international and corporate cultures.

  • Ability to practice controllership with perspective, and gain business wide buy-in.
