The Sr. Manager, Distribution Center oversees the functions of the distribution center including shipping, receiving, loading and unloading, picking and packing, scheduling, inventory control, loss prevention, and budget.

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Lewisville, TX. This is an on-site position and you will perform this job entirely at our Lewisville office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Develops the distribution center plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of warehouse and/or distribution center operations to ensure that operations conform to established customer and company quality standards.
• Assists company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
• Maintain an accurate perpetual inventory and ensure that these efficiencies equate into turns, while utilization of space is maximized. Manage and conduct physical inventories and scheduled cycle counts and other control measures to insure inventory accuracy.
• Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
• Formulates and recommends operations policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
• Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the operations plan, consistent with established warehousing and safety procedures. Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
• Work with sales and marketing leadership to improve overall performance in customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

• 10+ years of experience in a distribution environment

• Managerial experience

• Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects a must.

• Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen Teams and/or standard work methodology.

• Experience in Lean concepts and application.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, Oracle or AS400.

• Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.

• Knowledge of successful performance management techniques and ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

• Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

• Understanding of the importance of insightful listening and communicating and ability to provide information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact.

HOW TO STAND OUT:

• Experience in a high-volume building materials distribution center environment.

• MBA or Masters in Engineering or related field
