Overview
The Technology Portfolio Manager is responsible for setting the long-term vision and strategy for Steritech technology solutions. This position actively plans, organizes, and oversees the technology portfolio that supports the Steritech business and manages the processes to determine business needs and the work to plan, design, and develop projects. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with the IT Delivery Manager, IT Project Managers, IT Project Development Manager, IT Salesforce Engineers, the IT Business Partner for Steritech, and other stakeholders in IT to oversee and manage digital solutions to meet Steritech's business needs. This role is responsible for ensuring that digital products meet Steritech's business and user needs, are delivered and optimized to meet business requirements, and are managed within budget.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the technology portfolio: Manage and maintain the suite of technology solutions that support Steritech's business operations.
- Develop and implement technology strategy: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define technology needs and develop a roadmap to align with Steritech's strategic goals.
- Manage the technology product lifecycle: Guide technology products through all stages, from inception and design to implementation, maintenance, and eventual retirement.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new technologies: Research, assess, and recommend new technology solutions to address business challenges and opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT project management: Work closely with IT project managers to ensure the successful execution and delivery of technology projects.
- Monitor and optimize technology performance: Track key metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of technology solutions and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and performance: Oversee relationships with on-shore and off-shore technology developers, negotiating contracts, ensuring technology priorities are understood, scoped appropriately, designs and development meet agreed to standards, budgets, and timelines, and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends: Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices to identify potential opportunities for innovation.
- Gains a deep understanding of customer experience: Identify and fill technology functional gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve client experiences and drive growth; work closely with current/potential clients to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Builds and manages an annual technology budget: Prioritize efforts based on costs, benefits, risks, and ROI projections.
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent years of experience. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of applicable professional experience for each year of college requested.
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in customer-centric IT portfolio management or similar role.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define technology needs, develop a comprehensive technology strategy, and create a roadmap that aligns with long-term business goals.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate and select new technologies, considering factors such as cost, performance, security, and scalability
- Solid understanding of IT project management methodologies and the ability to guide and oversee major projects with cross-departmental impact
- Experience directly leading a team of at least 2-3 colleagues, while influencing key stakeholders and business partners

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior management, technical teams, and business stakeholders.

- Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to other team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges
- Ability to lead a team, inclusive or recruiting talent, managing day-to-day responsibilities, and encouraging growth through performance management and mentoring
