At Rakuten Advertising, Salesforce is a crucial component of how we run our organization. It acts not only as a CRM, but also as our source of truth for all business needs and data. As we enter the next phase of our growth, Rakuten Advertising is looking to improve, simplify, and optimize our operations, including our Salesforce instance.
We are looking for a full-time Lead Salesforce Engineer who wants to use their skills to influence critical business operations by designing and scaling the internal systems architecture used to run our operations. You will have direct influence on the company by helping drive productivity, efficiency, and insights for the commercial organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in APEX, Visualforce, Aura Components, Lightning Component Framework, and Flows.
- Ability to develop and maintain Salesforce applications, leveraging the full capabilities of the SF platform.
- Skilled in creating/modifying controllers, controller extensions, and triggers.
- Experience in creating and executing unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans.
- Strong skills in collecting business requirements and translating them into well-architected solutions.
- Proficient in analyzing and documenting functional and technical requirements.
- Capable of providing detailed project plans, including assessing benefits and risks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Finance, Product Operations, Marketing, Sales, and other teams.
- Willingness to produce tangible deliverables like requirements specifications and project plans.
- Responsible for creating defined coding standards and developing maintainable code.
- Committed to researching and utilizing Salesforce best practices to enhance system productivity and scalability.

- Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration as well as object-oriented design patterns and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based support environment and manage priorities judiciously
- Excellent organization skills and detail oriented; the ability to execute against a project plan, meet deadlines, and proactively raise blockers and risks is critical
- Business-first approach to building systems and applications. You care about the business impact of your technical work and can reconcile system behaviors with business/functional requirements
- Driven, resourceful, curious, and a fast learner: proven track record of taking initiatives and being resourceful to solve problems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required - Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent
- 8+ years of Salesforce Developer experience in a developer role
- Current Salesforce certifications (must include App Builder and Platform Developer I)
- Experience with APIs and integrations
- Efficient with Force.com developer toolkit - Lightning Component Framework, Apex, Visualforce, Aura components, SOQL, Webservice/SOA, Metadata APIs, and Unit Testing
- Experience and expertise in core web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery; and web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools
- Experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud and CPQ and Billing (nice to have)
- Additional requirements preferred, but not required: Salesforce Architect certification(s), Salesforce JavaScript Developer I, and Software engineering skills with Java, JSF, SQL

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
