A career in our Retirement and Pensions practice, within People and Organisation Consulting services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients reset their talent strategies and deliver extraordinary business results through their people. We focus on evaluating and managing their unique challenges so our clients can maximise their return on the overall investment in human capital. You'll gain a tremendous depth of expertise in all aspects of human capital, including creating sustainable value through people culture and change, designing compensation and retirement strategies, and improving human capital operations. Our actuarial team helps our clients develop and implement retirement and pension services suited to their organisational strategy and objectives. You'll be assisting the team with retirement and pension strategy, plan design transformation, merger and acquisition integration, implementation and financial reporting.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
- Actuarial valuation and analysis relating to the design, funding, risk, tax and financial reporting aspects of defined benefit pension and health & welfare plans in a major consulting firm or corporate environment;
- Project management, including setting and meeting client expectations and deadlines, delegation, review, training junior staff, and monitoring workload of yourself and the team while respecting the work-life quality of team members;
- Leadership, including supporting co-workers, seeking diversity, and providing honest and meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and,
- Technology solution creation and process improvement implementation utilizing technology.Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
- Domestic and global compliance, tax, and financial reporting requirements applicable to defined benefit pension and health & welfare plans, including statutory pronouncements (e.g. IRC Section 430, the Affordable Care Act), financial reporting standards (e.g. ASC 715, IAS 19R);
- ProVal, or other actuarial valuation software;
- Microsoft Office applications; and,
- Alteryx, Tableau, and/or other analytical applications for data manipulation and visualization.Client projects can include:
- Actuarial valuations of defined benefit pension & other post-retirement benefit plans;
- Strategic cost & risk analysis;
- Developing de-risking & re-risking strategies;
- Plan design & redesign analysis;
- Asset/Liability modeling;
- Nondiscrimination testing & strategy;
- Plan implementations;
- Partial/full plan terminations;
- Benefit certifications;
- Qualified plan operational reviews & strategy;
- Assistance with vendor selection/implementation;
- Providing subject matter support on PwC audit, tax & advisory engagements;
- Stock compensation valuations;
- Competitor evaluation benchmarking analysis;
- Government form preparation; and,
- Drafting participant communications.

The salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $232,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
