Pega Senior System Architect

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge and a proven record of success in engaging with end-users to understand and document business and functional requirements for complex projects. This includes managing technical teams across the full software development life cycle and encompasses the following areas:

  • Developing the overall technical architecture, including system, data, and integration architectures, while designing Pega application's technical components such as rules, flows, integrations, and user interfaces.
  • Ensuring solutions meet performance and scalability requirements, as well as security and compliance standards.
  • Leading and mentoring technical teams, including developers, testers, and other technical roles, by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Resolving complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks, providing guidance, and effectively communicating with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding timelines, technical aspects of solutions, and risks.
  • Possessing a deep understanding of the Pega platform, leveraging its features and best practices to deliver innovative solutions and resolve issues.
  • Contributing to project planning, including effort estimation, resource allocation, monitoring project progress, and identifying potential risks.
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables through code reviews and testing, and working with client technical teams to oversee the deployment, maintenance, performance, and scalability of Pega applications.
  • Designing and implementing Business Process Management (BPM) based solutions using Pega BPM software, and setting up client-side architecture for high performance and scalability.
  • Designing and implementing complex enterprise integrations with industry-standard technologies such as Oracle, LDAP, and Active Directory.
  • Driving BPM adoption within client organizations, empowering client resources to build process applications independently, and assisting clients in identifying other business process opportunities using Pega's software.
  • Building solid relationships with clients, identifying and addressing their needs, developing awareness of firm services, and communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing tasks and performing in functional and technical capacities, including design/configuration, implementation/deployment, testing, and management of enterprise software applications.
  • Exhibiting project management skills such as risk management, scope management, and change control.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in software delivery or development (Java/JEE, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere), web servers (Apache or IIS), operating systems (Windows, Red Hat Linux, or AIX), and other technologies/languages (SQL, JavaScript, Web Services, ESB, or Struts).
  • Engaging in software consulting, ideally in a Portal, BPM, DM, or EAI setting, and managing server architecture for high-availability environments.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and empowering client resources to become self-sufficient with Pega's software.

The salary range for this position is: $148,000 - $317,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
