Senior Business Control Officer (Pulte Mortgage)

Coppell, TX

This position will be based in either Englewood, Colorado or Coppell, TX. It will be hybrid requiring 2-3 days per week in office.

JOB SUMMARY
The Business Control Officer Sr. will play a vital role in strengthening the Business Controls function at Pulte Financial Services. This role entails a deeper involvement in developing, testing, and maintaining control processes, with a focus on continual enhancement of the control environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively contribute to the design and enhancement of business control procedures.
  • Independently conduct and oversee third party control testing, identify gaps, and oversee the development of remediation plans
  • Support the resolution and mitigation of significant control breaks and identification and classification of control breaks
  • Manage the process for recording, triaging, and resolving control breaks.
  • Engage with business function leaders to ensure control procedures are in full alignment with business aims and risks.
  • Contribute to the training initiatives, sharing expertise and knowledge on control processes.
  • Serve as a liaison with Compliance/Quality Control Teams, and auditors to support control audits.
  • Independently lead Risk Control Self-Assessment workshops and ensuing action planning
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to recommend necessary updates to control processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • One of the following:
    • 2-5 years of experience in Business Controls, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related area or significant related business experience in a money center bank OR
    • CPA OR
    • Significant experience in controls environment Information in one or more of the following areas: Application Development, Technology Infrastructure, Information Security for a Fortune 500 company
  • Demonstrated capability in implementing control frameworks and policies.
  • Proficient in using GRC technology and analytics tools for control purposes.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.

Travel: Some travel required, approximately 20%

Salary Range: $95,000 to $120,000 annually depending upon experience.
This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives.
