As a Vice President, Solution Architecture Engineer in Prudential International Insurance Emerging Markets Technology you will help advance the strategies of the business and corporate functions around simplification and modernization of technology stacks by leveraging architectural principles and patterns developed by Enterprise Architecture. You will deploy solutions that are consumable and available across the enterprise and provides architecture consulting on large, business critical programs and or initiatives that have high business visibility, impact and/or risk and complexity.

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ, São Paulo, Brazil or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 2 days per week. This position will require international travel.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day:

  • Oversight and evaluation of architecture for significant sectors of the application portfolio across businesses and countries
  • Evangelize and influence architectural change and adoption at an executive level
  • Educate and provide thought leadership for architecture strategy and vision
  • Ensure significant end to end solutions align to all architectural principles and patterns based on enterprise standards in additional to division and business requirements
  • Aligns the development of critical applications to our future roadmap. Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theory. Creates solutions for critical business challenges
  • Contributes to and help evolves the enterprise standards for business growth

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering; Analytics; or experience in related fields
  • Lead and Guide diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization
  • Advanced understanding of functional area and a competent understanding of the overall firm and competitive environment
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills; enjoy learning new skills

Expertise with several of the following:

Solution Architect Fundamentals:

  • Strong Understanding of business strategy and drivers.
  • Ability to model logical and abstracted architecture to create standard repeatable approaches for all solutions
  • Continued focus on prevailing and emerging architectural trends as well as new technologies
  • The ability to apply trends and technologies to solving current business problems

Solution Design:

  • Map business goals to applications
  • Translate model business processes and domains into technical solutions architecture
  • Architect business solutions in alignment with modern architecture patterns and technologies
  • Assure feasibility and sustainability by partnering with relevant stakeholders, and creating a vision for the solution's continuous delivery pipeline

Technical Design/Architecture:

  • Knowledge of Design, modification and testing of Technical Architecture
  • Ability to transform Prudential architectural patterns into reference implementations and consumable.

Advanced skills in:

Infrastructure Fundamentals:

  • Knowledge of infrastructure elements (server, storage, DB, network etc.)
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems

AWS Solutions Architecture:

  • Infrastructure as code using cloud formation in both YAML and JSON formats
  • AWS Solution Architecture Certification
  • Continued monitoring and evaluation of AWS catalog for new services and evolution of existing ones

The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
