As a Vice President, Expense Management Product Owner, you will lead the development of expense management solutions, in partnership with our technology leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals to improve the end-to-end Expense Management Process at Prudential. You will define a roadmap for a product or suite of products by collaborating with our customers including, finance leaders, business functions and technology teams, identifying actionable outcomes and finding creative solutions to solve sophisticated business problems and create experiences to delight our customers. As an expert in Expense Management, Strategic Initiatives, Demand Management, and Data Strategies, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, an inclusive leadership attitude, and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Lead a team that is building expense management products to support in-depth, actionable and disciplined expense analysis and insights to improve profitability metrics.
  • Deliver a connected strategic initiative model that links to our existing forecast/reporting capabilities. This model and a subset of reporting components will be used by Executive Leadership Team to monitor initiatives monthly/quarterly and support the new prioritization process.
  • Create and maintain an ongoing product roadmap by working with business areas to identify, sequence, and prioritize enhancement requests.
  • Ensure alignment by developing and refining product features and stories on a quarterly and bi-weekly basis, i.e., review, give feedback, and prioritize user stories in line with own vision.
  • Coordinate, plan and lead UAT sessions for business stakeholders.
  • Communicate frequently with business stakeholders to ensure engagement, building customer feedback, and obtaining buy-in on decisions and proposed solutions.
  • Lead sprint and release plans together with the Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, and organizational technology teams.
  • Fully owns product and backlog, leads discussions and decisions around technology options as well as supports building product teams for execution.
  • Develop corporate platform standards based on cost, capability and capacity requirements to drive business value; document solutions to support the adoption of developed solutions.
  • Bring a deep understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, give technical direction to team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day
  • Lead the demand intake discussions with stakeholders, manage expectations, and deliver outcomes.

What you'll need:

  • Product/Process Ownership Experience; leading an Agile team, or a multifaceted, high paced team focused on financial management.
  • Experience with solution ideation, design, and implementation; effectively leveraging diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Innovation & Critical Thinking; knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Has the ability to identify and capitalize on intelligent risks.
  • Financial & Business Acumen preferably with Expense Management, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Modeling, and / or driving Business outcomes and decision making.
  • Technical expertise in business level financial and strategic analysis
  • Demonstrated success in achieving long-term goals while managing short-term challenges.
  • Ability to drive change with fortitude and persistent resilience.
  • 8-12 years of well diversified experience in a corporate environment

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Ability to understand the competitive environment and help implement leading-edge technologies and process improvements for finance end-users.
  • Ability to find cost saving opportunities and drive FinOps culture.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA is a plus.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
