The Health & Welfare Benefits Delivery team within the HR Delivery Team is responsible for the implementation, administration, and upkeep of global rewards programs. A unique opportunity exists within the team for a Specialist that manages all leave of absence programs offered to employees, including, but not limited to: Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), parental leave, disability, state leaves, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) leave.
Reporting to the Manager, Employee Benefits, the ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience guiding employees through leaves with multiple different leave types, working with external and internal stakeholders to address any concerns and managing leave cases via a case management tool. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for leave programs, interpreting and administering policies in accordance with applicable laws. You must be able to understand the interdependencies between multiple vendors and internal stakeholders, with the ability to proactively identify key gaps and areas for process improvement.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as main point of contact and case manager for employees and managers by providing timely and appropriate leave information. Including, but not limited to: interaction of leave laws with paid time off, short-term and long-term disability benefits, explanation of benefit/pay impacts, and the employee's responsibility and expectations for leaves, as well as actions needed for returning to work
• Serve as point of contact for external vendors for solutioning and proactive process updates
• Create and lead weekly Leave of Absence information sessions with employees and managers
• Proactively analyzes leave data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement ; Drive resolution of cross vendor and process issues and concerns that arise
• Guide, share insights, and help managers on matters related to leave of absence programs
• Manage workflow through case management system to ensure all leave transactions are processed accurately and timely, including, but not limited to, reviewing hours each pay period for intermittent leaves, tracking leave time, auditing of leave offsets through payroll, and notifying employees and managers of updates.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of leave requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
• Handle complex and unique leave situations independently, while working closely with Employee Benefits, Payroll, HCM, and other internal stakeholders to solution
• Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws
This role will work closely with both external and internal benefit vendors, the Benefits Delivery Team, and various cross functional areas (e.g. Employee Relations, Employee Benefits, Payroll, etc.) to deliver the highest level of customer service to employees who request a leave of absence.
Qualifications:
• Ability to work independently and provide managers and employees with accurate information regarding leave of absence programs (process of leaves, communication)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbally and written) to all levels of the organization
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
• Ability to handle stressful situations respectfully and remain neutral in resolving employee issues as it pertains to the leave of absence process
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills; ability to partner with multiple stakeholders to ensure collaborative solutions
• Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or relevant experience
• Experience with Workday and ServiceNow
• Experience with large, complex organizations is a plus
• At times, extended working hours are required to meet business needs
• Occasional travel of less than 5%.
Location: Associates within a commutable distance to our Newark, NJ location will have a hybrid work arrangement (in office 3 days per week). Open to virtual for associates outside the commutable area.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $83,500.00 to $129,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
