Your Team & Role
As a Lead, DevOps Engineer, your role will encompass responsibilities in DevOps engineering, service/operations management, and AWS infrastructure engineering in Data Management & Governance team under Prudential Chief Data Office (CDO) organization, you will partner with product owners, cloud engineering, infrastructure and security team, technical leads, designers, software engineers and delivery professionals to improve our DevOps products and services. You will develop software and automated solutions to drive continuous integration and continuous delivery mechanisms to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to deep technical expertise and DevOps domain experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus.

This role will be a hybrid work arrangement based out of our Newark, NJ location. Virtual locations are also considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process and ensure rapid delivery of high-quality software.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Develop automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source code management and new ways to operate and collaborate.
- Implement and manage container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker to streamline the deployment and scaling of applications.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Leverage AWS services such as EC2, EMR, S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, ALB, SQS, SNS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and more to build and manage cloud-based applications.
- Implement security best practices for AWS environments, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability.
- Monitor and maintain service availability and performance through proactive incident management and resolution.
- Develop and implement operational best practices, including change management, incident response, and problem management.
- Utilize monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch) to gain insights into system performance, resource bottlenecks and identify areas for improvement.
- Establish and manage SLAs/SLOs/SLIs to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
- 5+ years of extensive experience in DevOps engineering and AWS infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Artifactory).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, EKS, Kubernetes, ECS).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge on IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Operations Management, with experience in reporting on Service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $138,500.00 to $206,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
