What you will do:

The Director, Business Intelligence delivers and executes on the vision and strategy and communicates success stories effectively to key stakeholders, the team, and enterprise. Identifies opportunities to leverage Business Intelligence solutions and platforms in existing portfolio and expand in new areas to drive significant business outcomes. Collaborates and communicates effectively and consistently with business partners to proactively identify needs, prioritize, and deliver solutions. Understands the data consumption patterns and develops best in class self-service BI capabilities across the enterprise. Ensures customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results, while leveraging industry knowledge. Leads proof of concepts for new tools and technologies. Has management responsibilities for a team and/or for a project or process.

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ or Tampa, FL office. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis 2-3 days per week.

What you can expect:

Deliver and execute on vision and strategy and communicate success stories effectively to key stakeholders, PGIM Affiliates and teams. Identify opportunities to leverage Business Intelligence solutions and platform in existing portfolio and expand in new areas to drive significant business outcomes. Collaborate and communicate effectively and consistently with business partners to proactively identify needs, prioritize, and deliver solutions.

Demonstrates thought leadership and expertise across Business Intelligence disciplines. Present Business Intelligence dashboard solutions to executive leadership from different business units and functions to generate excitement and gain consensus.

Understand the data consumption patterns and develop best in class self-service BI capabilities across the enterprise. Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results, while leveraging industry knowledge. Lead proof of concepts for new tools and technologies.

Identify, hire, train, and retain talent with critical technical and business experience required to execute each initiative/capability. Develop/maintain/motivate a high performing team

Designs and builds new ways to collaborate and communicate technical excellence. Participate in and presents ideas at relevant communities of practice and shares ideas/concepts with the broader team. Facilitates sessions that promote agile ways of thinking, including hackathons/learning sprints or innovation days. Facilitates and champions agile assessments/surveys & creation of subsequent action plans to improve agile practices and business outcomes. Likely involved in the hiring and evaluating of talent including identifying emerging skills for development.

Actively engage and seek out new learning opportunities, demonstrate new skills or technologies in day-to-day work, mentor others, lead lunch & learn session or other presentations to large group to raise skill acumen of team and champion learning & innovation.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a business intelligence field supporting data, analytics and insights reporting using PowerBI including DAX, Power Query and Power BI Service.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes and data modeling concepts
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and technologies (eg SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Purview)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their BI-related services
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its components, including data engineering, data science, data warehousing, and real-time intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning tools for data enrichment.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Data Analysis and Insights, Statistics, Big Data Analytics (tools), Data Wrangling (Exploratory Data Analysis), Data Visualization, Data Ingestion, Query and Database Access Tools
  • Analytical Thinking, Decision Making and Critical Thinking
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills: able to partner with technical and business stakeholders to drive innovative solutions.
  • Experience working in an agile environment embracing collaboration within and across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in data management, analytics, and reporting tools.
