This role is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
Pramerica Services Company (Bermuda), Ltd., supporting Prudential's captives (GibraltarRE and LotusRE) and sponsored Bermuda companies (Prismic Life) as a shared services organization.
The Deputy Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for building and keeping up to date a strong foundation to support scalable growth for the Bermuda companies. The role involves creating and leading a high-performing operations function with accountability across various functions such as management information systems, technology, reinsurance operations, human resources, vendor management, program management, business management, and operational risk management. It includes strategy, negotiating, and ensuring that all vendor and service level agreements are effectively operationalized.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Managing all shared operational functions, processes, and capabilities for the company's platform in Bermuda
- Execute on the outsourcing strategy for all shared operations and support the vendor governance and management of all shared external service providers supporting these activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure applicable technology and data integration
- Participate in transaction negotiations related to operational arrangements and ensure that negotiated transactions can be seamlessly operationalized through outsourced partners and internal capabilities
- Ensure proper governance of all operational aspects of onboarding transactions and ongoing monitoring and maintenance
- Provide leadership and management necessary to implement strategic improvements in operations
- Partner with other key team members to align on service priorities, approach, and execution
- Deliver on the design, development, and implementation of management reporting
- Measure and ensure the effectiveness of all shared processes
- Partner with the Chief Risk Officer to develop and maintain an appropriate control environment for all shared operations
- Periodically review corporate services offered to employees and make recommendations on changes
- Drive periodic expense planning for the shared service organization
Qualifications:
- > 7 years of Operational Financial Services industry experience in Bermuda
- Operations Leader with an "Ownership" and hands-on mentality and experience in building and transforming operations for high-performing businesses with scaled growth potential.
- Strong relationship development, influencing, and negotiating skills
- Innovative approach to maintaining an operational services organization leveraging new technologies and external service providers
- Demonstrated ability in creating and instilling a culture that attracts, grows, and retains highly talented individuals
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to lead broad, diverse teams in an ever-changing environment
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strongly results-oriented with the desire and drive to accomplish stated objectives
