POSITION SUMMARY:

The Junior Cost Analyst provides support to ensure accurate day-to-day accounting functions and processes. This includes processing material and other cost of goods sold invoices, performing account analysis and reconciliation, ensuring deadlines are met, and performing other projects as assigned.

  • Analyzes and pays material invoices associated with projects
  • Maintains holds list for invoices in dispute
  • Audits work queues to ensure deadlines are being met
  • Performs weekly internal audits on invoice pricing
  • Reviews outstanding lists and reconcile statements monthly
  • Reviews P&L for missing and miscoded invoices
  • Maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Assists with audits as needed
  • Upholds confidentiality at all times
  • Must be able to sit at a desk and type for eight hours per day, and talk to employees in person and by telephone frequently throughout the day

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in order to complete projects and meet deadlines.
  • Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment but also able to work with little direct supervision.
  • Must have strong written, verbal and quantitative skills, be proficient in Excel, and have experience working with an ERP system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of Accounting Experience required.

  • The Junior Cost Analyst works in an office environment.
