What You Will Achieve

You will be part of Pfizer's dynamic Market Access team. You will help us develop and implement reimbursement strategies and programs to obtain coverage, coding and payment from providers. Your advice for reimbursement related matters will help various teams in the organization and you will ensure that market barriers for Pfizer's products and therapies are decreased or resolved. You will be proactive in working with the Health Economic staff to evaluate the economic impact of the use of therapies and products on payers, including the government. Due to your comprehensive knowledge in this domain, you will deliver training programs to various stakeholders, including sales force, physicians, home care agencies, case managers, hospital CFOs, medical directors, billing personnel and pharmacists.

As a Manager, you provide guidance to operational teams for managing projects. Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements, and providing areas of improvement for products, processes or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies. You will be able to take a leadership role to facilitate agreements between different teams.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Provide guidance, lead/co-lead projects, manage own time to meet objectives and plan resource requirements for projects across the division.
  • Lead the overall access strategy in broad market and direct the customized strategy for covered regions/counties.
  • Build and foster relationships with cross-functional teams and the Pfizer Business Units, in order to successfully manage the contract development lifecycle.
  • Continue to develop knowledge and understanding of managed market environment and institutional customers.
  • Gain knowledge of financial transactions across the pharmaceutical product distribution channel from wholesaler to pharmacy to institutions and through managed care pharmaceutical benefit.
  • Support the development of strategies that will allow business growth and benchmark the market access of key competitors' products.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Account Management team on contract terms and conditions.
  • Elaborate and submit all the documents together with the Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) dossier, required for the negotiation of new products or line extensions within the planned deadlines.
  • Undertake and / or commission price sensitivity research to optimize the co-pay or out-of-pocket pricing dynamics.
  • Understand healthcare/reimbursement policy and the implications on national and provincial level.
  • Support the inclusion of Pfizer products in the National Hospital formulary and Hospitals formularies.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to identify, recommend and implement process improvements.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience
  • Possess knowledge of business, financial, legal and commercial contract process and requirements
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, products and dynamics of the "in and off" patent market
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity and effective collaboration with teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, including proficiency with pivot tables, charts, formulas, and proficient working with large data files

Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in market access
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance requirements for pharmaceutical industry
