The Imaging Scientist works with the Discovery Research team as a study director to manage the execution, analysis, and reporting of pre-clinical discovery research studies. The individual in this role is expected to support the execution of pre-clinical imaging studies across various therapeutic areas by interfacing with business development, sponsors, and laboratory staff to manage all aspects of study management from initial design to final report. The Imaging Scientist I is expected to author and review technical documents including study protocols, final reports, abstracts/manuscripts/white papers, etc.

Essential Functions
- Contribute to study design, project planning, and quote generation in conjunction with customers, internal Scientific Leads, and our Commercial Office
- Drive study preparation, oversee execution, analysis, and reporting of pre-clinical studies, while following department workflows and ensuring collected and reported data meet high-quality standards
- Author and/or review technical documents, including study design quotes, study and IACUC protocols, final reports, presentations, abstracts/manuscripts/white papers, etc.
- Act as the key representative of Invicro to sponsors during all phases of study execution
- Acquire and maintain fundamental knowledge of relevant diseases, their basic biology, and how the specific study fits within that field
- Maintain clear and accurate technical records, displaying a high standard of attention to detail
- Support teammates in your key areas of scientific expertise
- Maintain a collaborative internal team environment
- Contribute to scientific and process strategy for local preclinical site in partnership with DPS Leadership Team
- 1-2 local and/or remote Study Directors may report directly into this role; responsible for training, scientific/technical and process mentoring, and performance management with guidance from manager and DPS Leadership Team
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Scientific/technical PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Engineering, Physics, etc.) with 5-8+ years applicable industry experience or equivalent; or, scientific/technical Masters with 7-10 years applicable industry experience or equivalent
- Domain knowledge in a technical area related to imaging, biomarker research, or pharmacology (e.g. preclinical PET, SPECT, CT, MRI, optical imaging; efficacy or tolerability studies; biodistribution or pharmacokinetic studies)
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and interact professionally with collaborators, customers, and/or subcontractors
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to demonstrate adaptability, a logical approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to continual learning
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong presentation skills; able to clearly present complex scientific results to colleagues internally and externally
Preferred
- Hands-on experience acquiring pre-clinical imaging data, familiarity with data acquisition, analysis techniques, quality control, and experience in interpretation and presentation of such data
- Robust experience applying imaging to the study of disease in one or more therapeutic areas
- Experience with relevant in vitro/ex vivo methodologies including radioligand binding, autoradiography, and immunohistochemistry
- Experience with small molecule or biologics radiochemistry
- Experience with the design, analysis, and interpretation of pharmacology and/or efficacy studies
