Job Purpose
Perceptive is seeking an Associate Scientist II to contribute to in vivo small animal molecular imaging studies, including nuclear medicine techniques (PET/SPECT), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) within a multi-modal imaging laboratory. This role supports the development of novel therapeutics by conducting in vivo pharmacology procedures, operating advanced imaging equipment, and effectively communicating data and project updates. The position offers opportunities for rapid technical growth and hands-on experience with cutting-edge pharmaceutical research projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct hands-on animal research using advanced instrumentation with mentorship from leading medical imaging scientists, while collaborating within a matrix environment with research staff, project management, and image analysis teams.
• Follow and execute laboratory specific SOP's related to role
• Assess study protocols for experimental details (with limited supervision)
- Participate in protocol reviews
- Lead projects and schedule necessary tasks
- Meet timelines related to protocol execution
• Learn technical/theoretical applications involved in executing pre-clinical studies
• Maintain clear and concise laboratory notes
• Perform data quality control and upload relevant documents upon study completion (with limited supervision)
• Work with IACUC to implement and ensure compliance of animal use protocols
• Assess animal health conditions, communicate with Attending Veterinarian (AV) and provide necessary animal health care (with limited supervision)
• Execution of (with limited supervision):
- Efficacy studies
- Biodistribution studies
- Pharmacokinetic studies
- Toxicokinetic studies
- Xenograft models
• Preferred functioning set of classical skills:
- Test article administration IV, IP, SC, IM, PO
- Perfusion
- Compound handling
- Tissue resection
- Biological sampling procedures
• Work with radioactive and BSL2 samples and test articles (with limited supervision)
- Gamma counting
- Sample disposition
- Proper handling and disposal of associated materials

Experience, Education, and Certifications
• AS 3+ yrs, BS 1+yrs or MS 0+yrs experience in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, radiologic sciences, pharmacology, Biology, Animal Science or a related field
• Experience should include academic or industrial projects utilizing imaging technology, programming, pharmacology or other applicable engineering skills
• Relevant experience - basic animal handling, pre-clinical or clinical imaging, handling of radioactivity
• Experience using tools to communicate progress to Stakeholders.
