Overview

This position will conduct the sector-wide food safety assessment within company owned PepsiCo Foods North America (Frito-Lay and Quaker) facilities to identify areas of focus for program enhancements to ensure compliance to legal and regulatory requirements, with a targeted assessment completion by year end 2026.

The selected incumbent will be the program lead for Hygienic Design, along with another assigned food safety program, as it relates to the food safety assessment and lead the successful prioritization and execution of food safety program enhancements for their assigned programs to drive improve in food safety performance at company owned manufacturing locations. These items will be accomplished through the effective leadership and collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders including R&D Food Safety Center of Excellence, Legal Counsel, Supply Chain HQ Quality and Food Safety Teams, Engineering, MCOE and Leadership Team members.

As the initial food safety assessment concludes, the the incumbent to be responsible for leading the continuous improvement of the hygienic design with in PFNA, in partnership with Engineering Partners at both the HQ and field level, ensuring strong processes, governance, practices are in place and the Global Hygienic Design Standards are fully integrated into the business and a program is establish to incorporate a robust design review of all changes, improvements and new asset (both equipment and infrastructure) across PFNA at HQ and in the field.

This position reports to the Supply Chain Food Safety & Continuous Improvement Sr. Manager

Responsibilities

Business Accountabilities

  • Leadership and food safety expertise to conduct site assessments across all internal manufacturing locations within PFNA to ensure compliance to established procedures, programs, requirements and assess gap to FDA regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Identification, prioritize and development of corrective and preventative action plans for food safety issues.
  • Develop enhancement to Food Safety Programs to execute change management to effectively deploy and ensure successful sustainment of changes.
  • Support FSMA food safety plans, allergen safety, and odor/aroma mitigation requirements including storage, handling, sanitation, and training.
  • Ensure regulatory and microbiological requirements are identified and completed.
  • Utilize statistical methods to identify and track process capability and guide correction of performance gaps.
  • Generate and champion food safety improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree with minimum 5 years demonstrated success in quality or plant operations.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a food company
  • Hygienic Design Certification or ability to attain.
  • PCQI Certification or ability to attain.
  • Knowledge and experience with Food Safety and Sanitation Programs
  • Knowledge of FDA, FSMA, USDA, GFSI, HACCP, and GMPs
  • Demonstrated ability to identify critical data and develop corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively and manage risk in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships.
  • Excellent leadership and influence skills.
  • Exhibit business maturity in handling privileged and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing conflict and using data to drive decisions.
  • Percent Travel: 50-70% domestic/Canada/Mexico travel
