Overview

This role will lead & support all global product teams in managing the data pipelines from source to target. PepsiCo currently has 120,000+ data pipelines across its digital landscape, this role will engage with all sector teams in supporting the global products & projects. This role will own ~10MM /year in sustain budget.

  • Visionary Senior Director, Data Operations, to lead our growing data organization. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the current environment(s) & data pipelines
  • Partner in building the next generation Data & Analytics. platform(s), and leading a high-performing data operations team
  • Oversee all aspects of data operations, from data ingestion and transformation to governance and security.
  • Define and mature the full people, process and technology driven Data & Analytics platform technology strategy and cultural shift for PepsiCo IT to a world class data first organization working across all Sector Strategy & Transformation.
  • Champion of PepsiCo's Data & Analytics program and platform management supporting large scale global data engineering efforts parterning across Strategy & Transformation organization.
  • Support Data & Analytics Technology Transformations to provide full sustainment capabilities across the PepsiCo Data Estate, including data platform management automation of proactive issue identification and self-healing abilities.
  • The operational management of a wholistic Data & Analytics Technology Strategy for PepsiCo will be extremely complex considering the legacy technology estate at PepsiCo, tremendous growth in data volume across platforms along with the number of key stakeholders involved.
  • Regular updates to Senior leadership (Sectors, Strategy & Transofmration leadership etc.) on Data & Analytics platform technology roadmap.
  • The development of a new Data & Analytics Technology Transformation organization is a paradigm shift for PepsiCo IT due to the multi-decade reliance on internal PepsiCo Data Centers and legacy operating model.
  • Effective management of a global team of internal and external Data & Analytics platform technologists while supporting SAP and data engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

  • E2E Data operations and sustain - Testing and monitoring process to support global products and projects (cross sector) in partnership with Data Engineering teams.
  • Data capture, Data Storage, Integration, Governance and Analytics responsibility in collaboration across organization.
  • Day to Day - Data products support, service-level agreements (SLA), and clear definition to meet business demand. Engage with SME's.
  • Partner in work intake process and Agile management process for data platform teams. Lead strategy and direction and drive excellence for PepsiCo customers.
  • Actively manage Senior/Executive level relationships up to CEO
  • Strategic: Rapidly create and manage automation-based and structured processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and data services.
  • Develop and automate operational policies and procedures. Establish crisis management functions that ensure world class time to mitigate for service outages and incidents.
  • Engage in SRE initiatives, Manage 24X7 support team with on call rotation - response to, mitigation of, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the customer audience. Leverage your skills such as active listening, problem-solving, and being transparent to address difficult customer situations requiring you to set and manage customer expectations while maintaining a trusted customer.

  • Leverage your technical and operations expertise in cloud and high-performance computing to establish a solid understanding of the business, customers need, and ability to earn trust in relationships.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $146,100 - $289,900.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 30% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of technology work experience in a large-scale Global organization - CPG preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience working within a cross-functional IT organization.
  • 10+ years of experience in leadership/management experience.
  • Excellent Communication: must have the ability to empathize with customers and convey confidence.
  • Able to explain highly technical issues to varied audiences.
  • Able to prioritize and advocate customer's needs to the proper channels.

  • Site Reliability Engineering experience with modern site reliability practices including automated remediation of issues, or improved scalability, etc.
  • Experience driving Operational Excellence in operating large complex mission critical solutions.
  • Significant experience in delivering large scale operational services in a complex-change environment.

  • Knowledge of some of the key concepts around master data management, data standards, analytics, and digital transformation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of data acquisition, data catalogues, data standards, and data management tools.
  • Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability foster lasting partnerships.
