The Demand Xcelerator will help PepsiCo provide our customers cutting edge data and insights, as well as, personalized solutions to drive incremental growth for both our customers and PepsiCo

Great opportunity to join a PepsiCo Customer Team directly supporting the Category Leadership agenda at The Save Mart Companies, Staters Bros, and Bashas. The Category Manager works closely with the Customer and Cross-functional PepsiCo teams to develop and execute category strategies based on shopper insights and trends to drive category and market share growth

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead key customer advisory initiatives at Save Mart, Stater Bros, and Bashas
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for Large Format CatMan
  • Manage and develop team - this role has 1 direct report (analyst)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Insights, Shopper Marketing and Space Optimization to create customized solutions for implementation at Large Format Regional customers
  • Conduct detailed category decompositions across food and beverage categories that provide Division specific opportunities & action plans to drive sales growth
  • Develop customized fact based selling stories leveraging all available data sources including IRI scan, shopper data and PepsiCo proprietary insights
  • Conduct post promotion analysis on major customer programs and other key initiatives
  • Build and maintain advisory relationships with customers' buying teams through the delivery of actionable insights, demonstrated category expertise and frequent contact
  • Develop best practices and cascade with other team members

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of Category Management, Insights and/or Sales experience within the consumer packaged goods industry, previous Category Captain experience a plus
  • Strong leadership skills: the ability to proactively set and lead an insights agenda
  • Strong analytical skills: the ability to link strategies and objectives to tactics
  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
  • Strong planning/organizing skills: the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Teamwork is essential in this role as this person will work very closely with account sales leads, cross-functional teams as well as the retailer directly
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint with solid working knowledge of Syndicated POS (IRI), Consumer Panel (IRI or Nielsen) and Loyalty Card information (EYC)
  • Must be willing and able to travel 15-20% of the time
