Overview

The position serves as the site safety support across the Technology Process Center (TPC), which provides services to R&D Development work in addition to production of smaller Service to Sales initiatives such as our E-commerce business. This position will be responsible for executing the site safety programs and training programs which support both internal PepsiCo associates as well as any contract labor on-site. This role will now have a matrix manager, Plano R&D EHS Manager (L10), who will lead strategy plan development to enable the L5 associate to focus on execution only.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site compliance to PepsiCo Global Environmental Health & Safety Standards
  • Lead the implementation, enforcement, and continuous improvement of the facility health and safety policies and procedures
  • Support GEHSMS implementation by executing standard programs as developed by Global R&D EHS
  • Conduct EHS investigations for accident, incident, near-miss investigations, and provide recommendations for process, procedure or equipment changes to eliminate future occurrences
  • Lead weekly safety inspections of the facility, provide weekly report of finding and ensure closure of findings within required timeframe
  • Perform job hazard and job safety analysis citing specific hazards and methods for remediation
  • Develop EHS awareness campaign, in partnership with Global, to elevate safety awareness and improve safety metrics
  • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance to Pepsico EHS standards and coordinate applicable inspections
  • Comply with all related regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting. Ensure timely reporting and closure of safety findings
  • Support Safety program owners and coordinate scheduled program review per team/GEHSMS requirements
  • Develop, manage, support site Safety training programs and provide site safety orientation as needed
  • Review written SOP and SSOPs to ensure Safety compliance and appropriate steps to ensure human safety
  • Operate as site Permit to Work owner; obtaining safety training required to effectively lead program, identify safety risks and risk mitigations and work with contractor team and internal team to complete required documentation

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $59,400 - $92,600
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process

Qualifications

  • Safety degree and/or related certification or 2 yrs minimum EHS Management System and EHS Auditing
  • 2+ years experience working safely in a manufacturing/production environment or in an R&D testing center, preferably in the food industry
  • Ability to execute a site safety plan (awareness, technical GEHSMS standards, safety walks, continuous improvement)
  • Flexible - willingness to work overtime, off-shifts, and weekends
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings and training environments
  • Capability to review safety data and information and provide recommendations based on trends for improvement.
  • Proficient computer skills required - (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
