We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist to support our AMER locations and manage our global ergonomics program.
This role will involve conducting onsite and remote ergonomic assessments and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace environment across all AMER locations. The H&S Specialist will join the Global EHS team and report directly to the Global EHS Manager. This role will require the employee to be in the office at least 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Health & Safety support to all AMER locations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Develop, implement, and manage a global ergonomics program aimed at preventing workplace injuries and promoting employee well-being.
- Conduct thorough ergonomic assessments both onsite and remotely, identifying risk factors and recommending appropriate solutions to mitigate potential ergonomic issues.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to enhance employees' understanding of ergonomics and safe working practices.
- Permitting: Manage and secure necessary permits for various operations and projects.
- Policy Development: Create and update H&S policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Risk Assessment: Perform regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Assist with budget analysis and variance research as needed.
- Set up new vendors, follow up on required paperwork from vendors; invoice management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, operations, and facilities management, to integrate H&S considerations into all aspects of the business.
- Support facilities projects and onsite support, as needed;
- Be a local point of contact for other Places team members.
