EHS Associate Resource
Responsibilities
Major Task Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Air Emission and Air Compliance area and as a backup SME in the Wastewater compliance area.
- Collects and tracks environmental performance metrics and incident data and assists the Director with updating the Strategic Plan as necessary. This will include quarterly data review and certifications and environmental significant incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develops targeted incident corrective actions -- including tracking them to closure.
- Assists with the development and delivery of environmental compliance and risk management training programs for multiple environmental program elements in various media, including air, water, waste, spills, etc.
- Evaluates and assists with capital and innovation projects to determine environmental impacts, environmental compliance requirements, and environmental risk control needs ensuring adherence to environmental standards and design/performance of BACT environmental equipment.
- Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the Pepsi - North American Beverages EHS policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations (i.e. Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.)
- Manage local EHS budget
- Lead the development and implementation of the EHS Annual Operating Plans and EHS Action Plans for the location
- Achieve annual targets rates for Lost Time, Recordable, Severity, and Environmental
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and environmental regulations
- Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, environmental incidents, and vehicle accidents
- Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Zero Zone Management System standards, and internal PepsiCo EHS procedures
- Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures.
- Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
- Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
- Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the location
- Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques

Requirements:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings and training environments
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills use PC and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to make and deliver training presentations work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results driven.
- Team oriented environment maintain confidentiality make independent decisions
- Functional EHS knowledge in regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects (safety, industrial hygiene, environmental regulatory management, risk management, behavior-based safety, training, regulatory agency enforcement

- Strong project management skills including financial responsibility, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, execution and start-up/commissioning, managing multiple concurrent projects/programs

Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $76,900 - $128,700
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually
- Paid time off in accordance with policy is subject to eligibility and includes vacation, holiday, sick, bereavement and parental leave.
- Vacation: for eligible full-time employees, a minimum of 15 paid vacation days
- Holidays: for eligible full-time employees, the company provides 10 paid holidays annually
- Sick Leave: for eligible full- time employees, 10 days (80 hours) of paid sick leave benefits are available for absences related to non-job-related injury
- Sick leave benefit will be accrued during your first year at 1 day for each month worked in that calendar year
- Bereavement Leave: In the event of a death of an immediate family member, full-time and part-time regular employees are eligible to receive up to three (3) consecutive working days with pay
- Parental Leave: for eligible employees, the company offers paid parental leave for up to 6 weeks to allow for a time of bonding with their newborn or newly adopted child

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of EHS work experience or high school diploma with 5-7 years of EHS work experience
