This position contributes to the success of the PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, and DOT), accident prevention and after injury management. This person will work to support implementation of the PBNA EHS Management System at the St. Louis, MO manufacturing location. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in employee safety and environmental regulations as well as have OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance experience and be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements
This person is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading the EHS agenda by supporting the location manufacturing teams with integration of safety and environmental programs, Workers' Compensation, prevention efforts, and regulatory compliance into everyday work life. The EHS Associate Manager has responsibility to analyze accident data and develop and implement actionable safety/environmental solutions. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solving abilities to develop best-in-class EHS programs for the improvement of the overall strategy and EHS management system. This is an onsite role
Responsibilities
- Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the PBNA EHS policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA/EPA/ (i.e., Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.) Manage local EHS budget
- Lead the development and implementation of the EHS Annual Operating Plans and EHS Action Plans for the location
- Achieve annual targets rates for Lost Time, Recordable, Severity, and Environmental
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and environmental regulations
- Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, and environmental incidents
- Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Strong project management skills including financial responsibility, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, execution and startup/commissioning, managing multiple concurrent projects/programs
- Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
- Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Zero Zone
- Management System standards, Emergency Response and internal PepsiCo EHS procedures
- Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures
- Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
- Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous EHS improvement across the location
- Complete root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with more than 5 years of experience in EHS
Regulatory Expertise: Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance
Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, coupled with excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or other related certifications desirable
Industry Experience: Background in safety management within consumer packaged goods, distribution, manufacturing, or grocery industries
Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS management systems, auditing, and Microsoft Office Suite
