You will be working with a team of experts to create and maintain various applications and middleware both on site and in the cloud.

What you will be doing:

As a Penske Senior Systems Administrator – Web Systems, you will build, patch and maintain Linux systems both on premise and in the cloud. You will also be installing, patching and maintaining middleware for web systems both on premise and in the cloud. You will mentor both Systems Administrators and offshore teams in performing tasks.

Penske Responsibilities:

• Manage system infrastructure

• Monitor daily and respond quickly to any usability concerns.

• Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system.

• Build, patch and maintain Linux systems both on premise and in the cloud.

• Install, patch and maintain middleware for web systems both on premise and in the cloud.

• Install, patch and maintain the Single Sign On environment both on premise and in the cloud.

• Perform routine tasks such as coordinating code deploys and shift turnovers with offshore teams.

• Work on projects within the team and small projects with other groups.

• Building, installing, patching, maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of the following technologies. Linux both on premise and AWS. Open source and purchased middleware products such as webservers, application servers, database servers, API management gateways, single-sign-on software, identity management software, ETL software, collaboration software, etc.

• Perform cloud migration into AWS

• Provide operational support such as server monitoring, backups, patching, and other duties as required;

• Write scripts to automate redundant tasks

• Other projects/tasks as assigned.

Penske Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field. If no degree, then at least 3 years of specific (function) administration experience required.

• Minimum of 3 years of system engineering and IT support required

• Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours.

• Expert knowledge of system security concerns and vulnerabilities.

• Intermediate knowledge with operating systems.

• Intermediate Linux / Middleware skills.

• Basic level of understanding of networks, security and databases.

• Linux both on premise and AWS. Open source and purchased middleware products such as webservers, application servers, database servers, API management gateways, single-sign-on software, identity management software, ETL software, collaboration software, etc.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
