At Patagonia, the Life Outdoors business unit exists
- to pioneer and scale environmental and social responsibility and disrupt the fast fashion model launching initiatives like NetPlus nylon, Regenerative Organic cotton and Fair Trade.
- to build a loyal activist community, primed to participate when we have directed calls-to-action towards our mission to save our home planet.
Partnering with the Life Outdoors Business Activist and the Brand Impact Lead, it is the Life Outdoors Marketing Activist’s responsibility to build this narrative: within our organization, within our industry and for the global community. They will develop seasonal category marketing campaigns that elevate the conversation around our mission and our team’s values, and connect authentically with Changemakers and Kids community.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with the Life Outdoors Business Activist to develop an overall marketing strategy that supports Patagonia’s company mission and aligns with Brand Impact initiatives.
- Partner with Environmental and Brand Impact teams to identify seasonal customer engagement and storytelling opportunities that the Life Outdoors community will support.
- Continue to focus on environmental and social responsibility as a cornerstone of Life Outdoors, including prioritizing and scaling regenerative organic cotton and circularity projects.
- Manage a Community Content Engagement manager who will connect with and support authentic Life Outdoors community, both locally and globally, reflecting issues that align with our mission and purpose.
- Develop strategic briefs and work across the marketing organization to develop globally relevant campaigns that support both sell-in and sell-through of key Life Outdoors product and initiatives.
- Develop relationships with regional counterparts to understand their product and marketing needs and drive overall support and implementation from a global perspective.
- Manage execution of marketing plans on-time and within budget, including media planning, product seeding, PR initiatives, promotions and events through strong communications and process with Creative Studio, Brand Impact, and Digital Experiences and global marketing partners.
- Manage a content creation and distribution strategy that accurately reflects the brand position and targets customers and core-users through film, photo, catalog, The Cleanest Line, pat.com category pages, and social media, for the ultimate purpose of inspiring and empowering collective action on environmental, social and ethical issues.
- Support the Go To Market process for Life Outdoors and ensure that milestones are hit from marketing.
- Curate and cultivate our relationships within the industry, including: Changemakers and Influencers, Content Creation, Non-Profits, Brands, State and Federal stakeholders.

Experience You Bring
- 7-10 years of relevant experience and a proven track record of working with changemakers, activists and people passionate about making the world a better place.
- Knowledge and understanding of changemaker and young activist communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Exceptional understanding of business, product, and marketing objectives with a proven record of delivering against KPIs.
- Experience setting strategy, storytelling, building community and managing project timelines and budget.
