Paperless Post is looking for a highly strategic and results-driven Director of Organic Search Marketing to lead, own and execute all organic search efforts across our product which offers over 30,000 original invitation designs, reaches over 200 million users, and has over 50,000 crawlable pages. The ideal candidate is someone who is analytical, data-driven, and creative with experience in SEO for sites with over 100K URLs and is excited by the opportunity to drive impact in an ever-evolving SEO landscape. This person will be the internal SEO evangelist, collaborating across the organization with stakeholders to ensure that SEO is operationalized across the whole business. As a key senior member of the marketing team, you will shape the organic search vision and work alongside Product and Engineering to test and execute that vision while ensuring that it aligns with overall business goals.

Note: This is a hybrid position based in our New York City office, so the candidate must be able to commute into our FiDi office at least twice a week. This role will report to the SVP, Marketing and oversee the Content Marketing Manager.
What you’ll do here
- Develop and execute a comprehensive organic search strategy that adapts to the opportunities and risks within the ever-evolving landscape in order to increase visibility and drive qualified traffic. This includes AI, and considers all search engines (e.g. Google, YouTube, ChatGPT, Pinterest, Tiktok, etc).
- Manage the execution and prioritization of the SEO and ASO roadmap, including split testing, as well as implementation of a variety of organic search growth tactics, on-page, off-page, and technical best practices.
- Collaborate with the product, engineering, content, and merchandising teams to build SEO roadmaps.
- Work closely with brand and creative teams to maximize the SEO impact of organic content we are creating across other channels (e.g. on-site, blog, YouTube,, etc)
- Be the internal SEO advocate and main source of knowledge/trends/competitive landscape.
- Own and optimize reporting on the impact of organic search channels.
- Interpret data into insights and translate company-wide goals into effective SEO strategies and processes.
- Develop and execute all ASO efforts in order to drive mobile growth across native apps
- Work closely with the Growth Marketing team to ensure that paid and organic search strategies are complementary.
What you bring to the table:
- 7+ years of experience in organic search engine marketing, ideally in a business that operates across multiple categories (e.g. our events platform works effectively for a variety of different event categories like wedding, professional, simple consumer, etc)
- 2+ years of experience with native apps and leading ASO efforts
- Previous experience building and growing an SEO & ASO program for a large site, including experience managing 100K+ URL sites with programmatically generated content
- Experience combining all major areas of SEO (technical, content, linking) into a coherent strategy intended to drive business objectives.
- Experience with a variety of aspects of technical SEO (e.g. pagination, log file analysis, scalable internal linking, etc) enough to understand their value and how to include them in a strategy
- A track record of successfully collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to sell in and implement changes that drive real business results
- Strong quantitative skills required to analyze and optimize performance
- A keen eye for detail and a strong desire to uphold high standards of excellence within a data-driven team environment
- A strong sense of curiosity, an incessant desire to solve problems, and not scared to get into the weeds
- Energized by the ability to own and execute your channels with strong sense of accountability and focus on impact, while fostering collaboration across the org
- Desire to evolve skills as the organic search landscape continues to evolve
- Deep knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMRush, and other SEO tools
- Expertise building and executing experimentation plans, including A/B and other testing methods.
- Experience making data-driven decisions using business analytic tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI or other similar), with strong reporting capabilities
- Experience working on a digital or SaaS product
- Excellent communication and project management skills

The compensation range for this role is $129,000 - 145,000 USD.
At Paperless Post, compensation is based on a number of factors, including geographic location, job-related skills, years of experience, and internal team banding. All full-time offer packages come with a base salary, equity component, and options for fully paid medical, dental, and vision benefits. The range posted here is based on the NYC market and may vary based on candidate location.
