NTT DATA's Client is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX
Key Responsibilities:
• Write production-ready code for bioinformatics algorithms, pipelines, visualizations, and data reporting.
• Processing public omics datasets through customized pipelines and implementing ML algorithms to structured data.
• Work with internal and external scientists to productize their work, build reusable packages
• Innovate and implement new tools and pipelines, and improve existing pipelines and algorithms for different types of biological data analysis and visualization.
• Identify valuable data sources and automate data ingestion.
• Effectively communicate processing and analyses.
Qualifications:
• Masters (1-2 years of relevant experience) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in pipeline development, omics data analysis, machine learning, or related fields is preferred.
• Proficient in a programming language used for data processing, analysis, and visualization such as Python and R. Ability to learn and work collaboratively on GitHub.
• Hands-on experience with Nextflow.
• Experience in implementing bioinformatics pipelines and data structures/objects Hands-on experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured big data.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals Think independently and also contribute to an active intellectual environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
