Take the opportunity to gain insight into the operation of Technical Research and Development (TRD)-Biologics by exploring our global functions of Drug Product Development, Drug Substance Development, Global Device and Packaging Development and Analytical Development.

You will be integrated in a team in each function and work together with them on current projects. Within each laboratory, you will be exposed to different techniques and fields of expertise.

Example of past and current projects are:

Development of a new bioassay to detect host cell proteins in drug substance and drug product of biologics.

Evaluation of new packaging modalities, such as pre-filled syringes or cartridges for the use in medical devices.

Implementation of an in-vitro drug release assay for an early phase drug product project for CAR-T cell therapy.

Development of Raman spectroscopy-based models with python for real-time monitoring of process related impurities in drug substance development of biologics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to lab-based and office-based TRD-biologics projects
  • Conduct experiments and generate data on TRD-biologics projects
  • Document and present results related to projects activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external development partners and stakeholders
  • Acquire an understanding of the TRD-Biologics organisations and how the different units within work together

Essential requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in chemistry, engineering, or biology or similar. PhDs cannot be considered.
  • Languages: English
  • Skills:

- Scientific knowledge of mammalian cell culture

- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical development processes including container closure systems for drug products

- Knowledge of one or several of the following:

Protein production & analytical methods (e.g. HDPB, RPC, SEC, particle analysis)

Bioanalytical methods (e.g. ELISA, cell-based assays, flow cytometry)

Molecular biology (e.g. cloning methods, PCR, viral vector, CRISPR)

Knowledge of programming (e.g. python, R, ...)
