MSLs are the extension of the medical function in the field. They build and develop enduring 'win-win' relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate scientific information and generate insights. MSLs provide field or hybrid medical support that is aligned and integrated to the overall medical strategy within the BU. In this unique role the MSL will focus on project management, pipeline products and collaborate closely with the office-based medical functions.

Main responsibilities:
  • The role focuses on the responsibilities of a Medical Science Liaison Manager working in the field across all of Germany, primarily engaging with healthcare professionals and institutions.
  • The MSL is responsible for proactive and reactive engagement related to both approved products and a pipeline of new vaccines. The MSL creates HCP/KOL engagement plans, generates customer engagement reports (entries in CRM), and provides actionable insights from the field.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engages external stakeholders, including HCPs and key opinion leaders (KOLs), for scientific and medical information exchange through one-on-one interactions and group settings like hospital meetings and webinars.
  • Interdependencies: Collaborates with internal teams (Medical Advisors, RWE, HEVA, Pharmacovigilance, CSU, MedInfo) and external partners (scientific experts, patient organizations, medical societies, health authorities).
  • The MSL will manage these responsibilities while covering a large travel area, encompassing the whole of Germany (50% travel).

About You
  • Education: University degree in Medicine, Biology, Pharmacy, or a postgraduate scientific degree.
  • Ideally, professional experience in a (field-based) medical role, e.g., as an MSL, Medical Advisor, or medical field representative.
  • Development of stakeholder strategies and planning, KOL engagement; project management skills and experience
  • Ability to effectively engage in scientific exchange with specialists and physicians.
  • Strong medical understanding and interest in vaccines
  • Use of CRM tools, efficient utilization of various channels and formats for scientific exchange to maximize stakeholder satisfaction and impact.
  • Strategic thinking, business acumen, building interpersonal relationships, ability to collaborate across functions, and agility in learning.
  • Native-level German required, intermediate level of business English in both spoken and written form.
  • Willingness to travel (Germany), driving licence
